Best Practice Guide for Climate Change Research

We are pleased to announce the publication of Climate Imagery: A Best Practice Guide, a new resource from the ClimateVisions project for communicators, policymakers, journalists, NGOs, and educators. Drawing on a systematic literature review (2005–2024), a large-scale computational analysis of over three million climate-related images on Twitter/X, and our research on text-image alignment in climate misinformation, the guide distills six key principles for effective visual climate communication, each with concrete Do's and Don'ts. It also offers platform-specific guidance for Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and traditional media. The guide is freely available.
